Background
Growing up in Uva Village as the daughter of a farmer and a housewife, Viviane has always felt different but never understood why. She hears things: the heartbeat of a deer two fields away, the whispered argument of squirrels in the treetops, the deep rumble of something alive beneath the earth near the Forbidden Boundary. She thinks everyone hears these things and has learned not to mention them after being scolded for "making things up."

Current Status
Studies art under Cassie's guidance, plays with best friends Esha and Otis. Has been hearing increasingly strange sounds from the forest — sounds that shouldn't exist. Her artistic talent is blossoming, but some of her drawings depict things she shouldn't be able to perceive.
Relationships
Daughter of Gus and Lina. Best friends with Esha Yule and Otis Reese — the inseparable trio. Studies under Cassie Norma and admires her deeply. Has a complicated relationship with her strict father and a warm but sometimes strained relationship with her mother, who she senses is hiding something.
Hidden Truth
Possesses superhuman hearing — she detects sounds no one else can: the whisper of wind through leaves, the distant footsteps of animals, sometimes feeling she understands animal language. This is a manifestation of the Eastern Children magical bloodline. She is unaware of her heritage or that her ability is magic. If the Church discovers her ability, she will be marked as corrupted by dark forces.
