Reclusive, cryptic, haunted by knowledge he didn't ask for. Malchion was once a normal villager until the whispers started. Now he lives alone in a cave, muttering about a king with no name, a god the Church says never existed.
Background
Malchion was a farmer who began hearing whispers in his forties — a voice speaking in fragments about a "Nameless King," a being that predates the creation myth taught by the Church. Unable to make the voice stop and fearing for his sanity, he withdrew from village life twenty years ago. He doesn't know if the voice is divine, demonic, or his own madness.

Wilderness survival, herbal knowledge (advanced), foraging, solitary living
Current Status
Lives in a hidden cave near the forest edge. Most villagers consider him eccentric but harmless. The whispers have been growing louder recently — more insistent, more coherent. He's beginning to understand them.
Relationships
Almost entirely isolated. Some villagers (especially the children's trio) are curious about the hermit in the cave. Sir Irek occasionally checks on him out of a sense of duty. Azriel has not yet discovered his existence — but when he does, Malchion will become a target.
Hidden Truth
Claims to hear whispers of the "Nameless King" — a being that should not exist according to Holy Church doctrine. This is heresy of the highest order. If discovered by Azriel, he faces arrest and trial at the Bishop's Tower, where the sentence for heresy is always death.
