Guarded, cautious, skilled, lonely. Alix keeps everyone at arm's length because getting close means risking exposure. Beneath her cold exterior is a woman exhausted by running and desperate for the simple peace of belonging somewhere.
Background
Her real name is Katia Elven. She was a promising soldier in the Holy Church's military forces who witnessed something she shouldn't have — during a campaign against demihuman forces from the Dark Realm, she saw Holy Knights drag unarmed civilians from their homes and execute them as suspected Eastern Children sympathizers. Men, women, even children — slaughtered without trial, without mercy. The cheering of her comrades as the bodies burned broke something inside her. Unable to reconcile this with the faith she'd dedicated her life to, she deserted mid-battle. The Church officially declared her killed in action. She has been on the run for three years, eventually finding her way to the remote Uva Village under a false name, living in a shabby hut at the village's southwestern edge.

Her real name is Katia Elven — a deserter from the Holy Church's military forces. The Church believes she died in combat. Discovery means judgment, imprisonment, or execution at the Bishop's Tower. She carries knowledge of Church atrocities that could corroborate Lina's forbidden history.
